Jared Miller was a convicted felon with a grievance: due to his marijuana drug dealing conviction and jail time he was stripped for life of his rights to possess guns. He complained about his grievance in his blog. Ultimately he joined the crazed gunmen of Oathkeepers who openly plot armed Insurrection in America.

Miller is sometimes thrown under the bus by claiming he was "kicked out" at the Bundy Ranch lawless anti-police gathering at the Cliven Bundy racist slavery-proponent's lair in Nevada. Yes, as a member of the Oathkeepers he was forced out along with all the other racist Oathkeepers at the same time. The entire bunch was pushed out at gunpoint for being crazy and claiming to have secret info of a govt drone strike on the ranch.

The evidence of anti-cop actions of the Oathkeepers was documented on social media, with screengrabs and archived copies have multiplied beyond any hope of "sanitizing and purging" the admissions.

The Oathkeepers have no screening process. Just mail them the money and they mail back a membership card, exactly the same for ALL OATHKEEPERS not just Jared Miller. Buy a cap or T-shirt if you like, that's optional. Show up or don't show up at Oathkeepers events. Frequently rightwing crazies join a bunch of organization: KKK, Oathkeepers, John Birch Society, NRA,  Militias, Hutaree, Teaparty, Sovereign Citizens, Stormfront, Neo-Nazis, Skinheads -- there is a lot of overlap of memberships and overlapping philosophy of White Supremacy Racist Anti-Authority. Jared Miller was member of a lot of overlapping groups.

Nobody did a background check on Jared Miller when he bought his AR-15, and to this day nobody knows the name of the person who sold it to him. Oathkeepers do no background checks at all and don't even know who is or isn't a member. Journalist have purchased Oathkeeper member cards using fake identities with no background check. Oathkeepers are reckless gun-worshipers who trade weapons briskly without background checks among themselves which may have been the prime attraction to Jared Miller.
